Wife. Daughter. Sister. Student. Employee. Baker. Enthusiast.
I’ve loved to cook and bake as long as I can remember. As a five-year-old I would climb on the cabinets in our kitchen to make myself peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (it’s no wonder I have a weight problem now!). At six, I progressed to cooking scrambled eggs. In fact, the first book I read by myself was Dr. Seuss’ “Green Eggs and Ham”. Now you might ask why a six-year-old would be allowed to use the stove, but I didn’t. My mother was quite progressive and my father went with it, appreciating her ability to raise independent children. By the time middle school came around, I was a baking fool. Armed with Babon’s Famous Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe (you’ll hear more about Babon later) and a cinnamon roll recipe from my 7th grade life skills class, I found my home in the kitchen.
Fast forward to now, this 27-year-old still loves Babon’s cookies, though I have moved on from those beginner cinnamon rolls to an absolutely mouthwatering recipe. I also have an arsenal of cake, pastry, and other confectionery treats in my recipe box that I’ve honed over the years.
I never set out to be a blogger, but since I’m having so much fun in the kitchen, it would be a pity not to share. I hope you’ll enjoy reading about my bakes, my life, and everything else in between.
